What Do Fundraisers Do With Donated Money?

September 28, 2010 Posted by The Law Firm for Non-Profits, P.C. in Accountability

Very interesting blog entry in The Chronicle of Philanthropy on Sept. 20, 2010, regarding the scrutiny of the “Arrangements Between Charities and Fund-Raising Companies.” http://bit.ly/lfnp106.

The article sites a St. Louis Post-Dispatch article (http://bit.ly/lfnp107) regarding the the transparency of donations. Donors “often do not realize that most of their donations are going to the fundraising firm rather than the charity,” claims the article.

The issue of transparency is of utmost concern to donors and continues to be addressed by many organizations that consult and assist non-profits. Grace Non-Profit Communications addresses this in its blog titled “Top Rated, Yes, But For The Wrong Reason!” http://bit.ly/lfnp108.
